Deleting documents

How to delete a document from the company or from an application, what exactly is erased, and what happens to the citations that pointed at it.

Updated on

Deleting a document in enisa.ai erases the file and everything derived from reading it; already-written answers and the facts you accepted are kept. By the end you will know how to delete it from the right place, what exactly is erased, and what happens to the answers that cited it.

Where each thing is deleted

  • A company document: on the Documentos page, Eliminar button. It disappears from the knowledge base and from every application that inherited it.
  • An application document: in that application's Conocimiento tab, Quitar button — only on files listed under "De esta solicitud".
  • Documents labelled "Heredado de la empresa" cannot be removed from inside an application, on purpose: they are evidence shared by all your applications, and removing them from one would pull the source out from under the others. They are managed only in Documentos.

What exactly is erased

When you delete a document:

  1. The file disappears from storage — no hidden accessible copy remains.
  2. Everything derived from reading it: the indexed passages that made it searchable and citable, and the not-yet-accepted fact proposals that came from it.
  3. It stops being a citable source: it will no longer appear as an origin in anything generated from that moment on.

Two nuances worth knowing:

  • Facts you had already accepted from that document keep their value — deleting them would corrupt applications you have already worked on — but they lose the citation to the document and are recorded as confirmed by you.
  • Already-written texts do not rewrite themselves: if an existing answer cited that document, the answer stays. Use Regenerar on that question if you want it redrafted without that source.

Before deleting

  1. Ask yourself why: outdated document, wrong version, information you no longer want on the platform?
  2. If it is an old version, upload the right one first and review its extracted facts.
  3. If an in-progress application cited it, regenerate the affected answers afterwards.

Deletion is immediate and has no undo. If you keep the original file, you can always upload it again.

Common issues

What if there is no remove button on a document in the application?

It is labelled "Heredado de la empresa": delete it from the Documentos page, knowing it affects every application.

What if I deleted a document and an answer still mentions it?

Drafted text does not edit itself. Regenerate that answer or edit it by hand; the new version will no longer be able to cite the deleted document.

Does deleting a document also delete my answers?

No. Answers and your accepted facts are kept; what disappears is the file and its status as a source.
