How long does ENISA take to respond? The honest answer: **there is no official guaranteed deadline** — in practice, count on months from submission to money in the bank — and anyone promising you a date is selling smoke. What we can tell you is what the road looks like and which part depends on you.

## The road, stage by stage

1. **Preparing the file.** The only stage you control 100%. Gathering documentation, the business plan, accounts, and the form answers can take days to weeks — with enisa.ai, considerably less.
2. **Submission on ENISA's portal.** The application is registered and joins the review queue.
3. **Review and information requests.** ENISA analyses the file and may ask you for additional information. Every slow or incomplete answer to a request stretches the process.
4. **Resolution.** ENISA approves or declines. The approval notification arrives with its conditions ([what happens next](/sobre-enisa/despues-de-la-aprobacion)).
5. **Formalisation and disbursement.** You still need to sign the contract and meet the pre-disbursement conditions. In the real approval letters we have analysed, two months or more passed between approval and disbursement, because disbursement is conditional (typically on the capital increase and on formulated accounts).

## How long in total?

It depends on ENISA — on its workload, the budget available in the call, and the quality of your file. In practice, **count on months from submission to money in the bank**, not weeks. Plan your cash accordingly: an ENISA loan is excellent financing, but it is not money to put out next month's fire.

## What you can speed up

- **Submit a complete file the first time.** The biggest avoidable source of delay is information requests caused by weak or inconsistent documentation.
- **Have your accounts filed and your obligations up to date** before submitting, not after.
- **Have the capital increase underway** if your own funds fall short: it is the most common disbursement condition and the slowest one to resolve if it catches you unprepared.
- **Answer information requests fast.** Days, not weeks.

## Common issues

### Months with no news — is that a bad sign?

Not necessarily; review times vary a lot. You can check your file's status on ENISA's portal.

### Does submitting on a specific date help?

Calls depend on annual budgets, and that influences timing. There is no published magic date; submit when your file is strong, not before.

### What if they ask me for more documentation?

Good news in one sense: your file is being reviewed. Answer completely and quickly.
